The Northman written by Robert Eggers and Sjón follows the story of Amleth, a Norse prince who is Hel-bent on avenging his father’s death and his mother’s kidnapping. Despite being visually entrancing with its attention to the minutiae of the Norse world, cinematography and overall atmosphere, The Northman fails in translating the themes that are embedded into the story. #TheNorthman
